​Hortensia PÂRLOG is Professor Emerita of English Language at the West University of Timișoara. She has published articles in the fields of phonetics and phonology, lexicology, syntax, pragmatics and translation studies, and is the author, co-author, and co-editor of several volumes and dictionaries. She is the founder and editor of the BAS/British and American Studies journal.
Luminiţa Frenţiu
Overall conference coordination
Luminița FRENȚIU teaches Discourse Analysis and Translation Studies at the English Department, of the West University of Timişoara. She holds a PhD in General Linguistics. She is the Director of Study of the MA programme in Theory and Practice of Translation at Timișoara University. She has been a coordinator of the BAS conference from its first edition in 1990. She is editor of the Romanian Journal of English Studies and has authored, edited and co-edited over 10 books and numerous papers in her area of expertise.
Reghina Dascăl

Reghina DASCĂL teaches British Studies and Gender Studies at the English Department of the University of Timişoara and holds a doctorate in cultural anthropology. She is Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies at Timişoara University. Over the years she has presented and published papers in the country and abroad and has also edited and co-edited several publications; she is also a translator and has so far authored five books.
Loredana Pungă

Loredana PUNGĂ is Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the West University of Timișoara, Romania. Her domains of expertise are English lexicology, applied and cognitive linguistics and translation studies. She holds an MA in British and American Studies and a PhD in Philology from the university where she currently teaches. Her publications include two books and six book chapters in thematic volumes, most of them published abroad. Loredana Pungă is (co)-editor of three volumes published in the UK and a member of the editorial board of three academic journals indexed in a number of important international databases. She has published over thirty-five articles in her areas of research. Since 2008, she has filled various university management positions.
